FOCUS ON RESEARCH

Technology for a cleaner future The overall goal of our research and education is to participate in the global innovation process and bring forward new knowledge, technology and economic solutions that may be useful to society, and make it possible to meet future energy demands with substantially less harmful emissions.

Our activities involve more than 30 research groups at 20 departments at NTNU and SINTEF, covering technology from the source to the end user, working in teams to solve complicated problems within selected areas.

We have intensivated the research on the following areas:

• Smart energy-efficient buildings
• Environmentally friendly utilization of natural gas

The activity also includes the following main areas:

• Study programme "Energy and the environment"
• Energy systems analysis
• Industrial innovation fund at NTNU (incl. solar and hydrogen)
• Sustainable energy sources (incl. wind power)
