Data Sources for Risk and Reliability Studies

Two main types of data are relevant for risk and reliability studies:

  • Reliability data - presenting estimates of failure rates and failure mode distributions
  • Accident data - presenting brief descriptions and characteristics of accidents and incidents that have occurred
