Shaping Norway's future

North Sea oil has made Norway into one of the world’s richest countries – but it took new technology to bring all that black gold up from the frigid depths of the North Atlantic.

In 1981, Dr. Kåre Molne applied for a professorship in Trondheim. In 2006, a child was born on a summer day in the Oppdal hospital. What ties these two events together? One life. And a test tube.

Making the most of renewable energy -- so we can capture ever more power from the sun, the sea and wind -- takes new technologies and new ways of looking at the world.
