MEMFO is the membrane research group at the Chemical Engineering Department of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). It is located at Gløshaugen campus in Trondheim.
Memfo was established in 1994 by Prof. M.-B. Hägg with focus on membrane gas separation. Activities within liquid separation are currently also running.
The R&D work of the Membrane research group can be roughly divided into the following activities (More background information can be found in the about-us.pdf file):
Membrane material development (for CO2 and H2 -selective membranes)
Capture of green-house gases (CO2 , VOC, SF6 ..)
Renewable energy (upgrading of biogas and biofuels)
Purification of aggressive gases (Cl2, HCl, SO2 ...)
