Solidification/Casting Group
We are the solidification/casting group of NTNU. The group consist of staff and students working on solidification and casting at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, NTNU. We specialize in solidification and casting of aluminium and aluminium alloys as well as crystallization of silicon for solar cells. The research spans from fundamental studies of nucleation and crystal growth to casting processes and properties of castings. The group is cooperating with SINTEF Materials and Chemistry (SINTEF) and has a wide international network.
