Trondheim fMRI group

Trondheim fMRI group is a research group at the Department of Circulation and Medical Imaging , Norwegian University of Science and Technology, (NTNU). The group is also connected to the Department of Radiology at St. Olav’s Hospital in Trondheim.

The research activity focuses on clinical use of MRI methods, such as BOLD fMRI, diffusion tensor MRI (DTI) and other diffusion methods, MRI methods for perfusion, MRI based methods for cortical thickness measurements, and standard MRI methods for structural pathology. Using these methods we aim to uncover the neural substrate underlying functional deficits seen in various diseases and the effect of intervention. We also have research in the area of psychology with episodic memory in humans as the main project. This is in collaboration with Center for the biology of memory.

Together Bergen and Trondheim fMRI groups make up the National Center of Competence for functional MRI (fMRI) in Norway .
