Literature and Terror: Violence, Politics, Aesthetics

The Nordic Association for Literary research (NorLit) is a Nordic organization for literary research in all relevant disciplines, such as Comparative Literature and disciplines of Modern languages and Cultural studies. Every other year the organization arranges an international scholarly conference, devoted to the interdisciplinary research of literature.
The theme for the 2013 conference, "Literature and Terror: Violence, Politics, Aesthetics", highlights the complex relation, in contemporary as well as former historical periods, between political violence and the function of literature and art.
The official conference languages will be Norwegian and English, but the sessions will be open to papers presented in the other Scandinavian languages; some sessions might also accept papers in German and French.
The conference venue is the Department of Scandinavian Studies and Comparative Literature, NTNU, Trondheim, Norway.
