P2005

Productivity 2005 (or P2005) was a research programme that aimed to strengthen the competence of Norwegian manufacturing industries in the areas of in technology, management and organization. More than 50 researchers from a number of faculties at NTNU worked together with Norwegian industry in interdisciplinary groups reaching beyond traditional disciplinary boundaries. The programme lasted eight years, one of the longest period of a research programme funded by the Research Council of Norway.

P2005 Industrial Ecology - a focus area within P2005

P2005 Industrial Ecology was one out of three focus areas within P2005. It was organised as an umbrella project, contracted towards IndEcol, and consisted of two core projects: Environmentally motivated product and production development, and Producer responsibility towards more effective handling of waste reduction, reuse and recycling issues in the material cycle.

We also chose to include two horizontal activities to help the involved actors clarify and make use of common issues such as terminology, LCA methodology, eco-responsibility and communicating Industrial Ecology to the society at large. Eight industrial cases were directly incorporated as part of the core projects within P2005 Industrial Ecology. Most of these case projects were carried out as network projects where two or more industrial companies collaborated. Visit the P2005 web pages to find out more about this activity.
