Ved Geografisk institutt er det ledig to faste stillinger som førsteamanuensis: (I) førsteamanuensis i entreprenørskap (kode 1011) og (II) førsteamanuensis i regional nyskaping/omstilling (kode 1011).
De som tilsettes må ha forskningskompetanse innenfor henholdsvis (I) entreprenørskap og (II) regional nyskaping/omstilling. De som tilsettes skal i tillegg undervise innenfor henholdsvis (I) samfunnsvitenskapelig metode, og innovasjonspolitikk og/eller regional økonomi. (II) Geografiske introduksjonsemner, metode og/eller fagfilosofi/historie.

PhD CANDIDATE IN GEOGRAPHY (SVT-930)

A temporary position as PhD Candidate in Geography is available at the Department of
Geography. The PhD Candidate will be appointed for a period of three years. This is an
educational position that shall provide promising research recruits the opportunity for
professional development through studies towards a PhD. The position is connected to the
PhD-program at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Technology Management, and the Faculty
will be your employer.

The Department of Geography currently consists of 6 Professors and 14 Associate Professors.
The position as PhD Candidate is organized at the Department of Geography and related to
the NORD-STAR project, a Nordic Centre of Excellence. The PhD candidate will contribute
to research on climate change effects in general, and particularly in assessing natural hazards
such as floods and mass movements (landslides, debris flows, etc) and local vulnerability
towards such hazards. There is a short description about the position which can be

vacant positions). Due to a mobility principle, students with a Master Degree from NTNU can
not apply this position, but are welcome to apply for other positions as PhD Candidate related
to the NORD-STAR project.

Prerequisites for assuming a position as PhD Candidate in Geography is a completed Master's
Degree in Geography with a good result, or corresponding education to an equivalent level.
Personal qualifications will be ascribed high importance.
Employment will be activated in accordance to existing regulations of 31.01.2006 with
NTNUs supplementary regulations of 17.06.09. The applicant must commit to join organized
PhD-studies within the employment period. Employment as PhD Candidate requires
admission to a PhD-program in Geography. Information about the PhD-program in

Together with the application you must attach the research work that is planned to be carried
out in the PhD period. This project description typically has an extent of 8 pages. The project
description will form the foundation for evaluation of admission to PhD–training at the
Faculty. A separate application for the PhD programme in Geography must be submitted. You

Applications should include a publication list, relevant sample publications (max. 5), CV with
information on education, and previous research experience, together with authorized
documentation of certificates and study records. Fluent English skills are required.
The position as PhD Candidate is paid according to salary scale 20, level 48 in the National
Salary Scheme, gross NOK 31 975 per month, of which 2 % is deducted for the State Pension
Scheme.

The appointment is to be made in accordance with the regulations in force concerning State
Employees and Civil Servants. The employee is expected to accept possible changes in work
tasks. Primary residency in Trondheim is a prerequisite.
