Water supply and sewage simulatorThe water supply and sewage simulator is currently being launched as a program for calculations of technical aspects of water-supply and sewage. Local authorities use a number of computer programs to estimate rate of runoff after rain or snow-melting, for example, water supply and pressure in the water supply network, and quantities and emissions from the sewage system to rivers and fjords. Such estimates have primarily been used in connection with dimensioning such networks. SINTEF NHL has been responsible for the development and sale of systems of this type to Norwegian users, primarily local authorities and consulting companies. Now it is launching the water supply and sewage simulator, a system that consists of a number of sub-programs for various types of analysis related to water supply and sewage systems. The simulator has been developed in close collaboration with users, and has been partly financed by the eight largest cities in Norway, and the State Pollution Control Authority (SFT). |
