How the ELSORB process works
ELSORB is a wet scrubbing process for the removal and recovery of sulphur dioxide (SO2) following the combustion or refining of coal, oil or gas. The ELSORB plant consists of and absorption section, in which flue gases are cleansed of SO2, and a regeneration section in which SO2 is liberated and recovered. The sulphur dioxide is absorbed by a patented solution consisting of water, phosphoric acid and sodium hydroxide. |
