This is a cluster

The concept of a "cluster" was introduced by the American professor Michael Porter, who employs it to describe industries with a great breadth of activities. The concept is wider than that of the traditional "branch" or industrial sector. Technological conditions can bring apparently quite diverse companies into one and the same cluster. Porter decribes a Danish cluster that ranges from brewing to fermentation, and even further to artificial manufacture of human insulin.
