Safety research at SINTEF

SINTEF Safety and Reliability performs contract research, with an emphasis on the development of methodology in safety, reliability and quality. The institute has widespread experience in helping industry deal efficiently with risk and operational reliability problems. An ability to find practical solutions, combined with first-class scientific skills, has resulted in a number of new concepts in safety and reliability analysis.

The institute collaborates closely with other SINTEF units such as SINTEF NBL Norwegian Fire Research Laboratory, SINTEF Automatic Control, SINTEF IFIM Institute for Social Research in Industry and SINTEF DELAB (SINTEF´s Information Technology Laboratory).

The institute also collaborates closely with NTH´s Department of Machine Design, and with departments concerned with mathematics, and organizational and work sciences.
