Dette innebærer bl.a.

The Department possesses a broad basis of competence within the above mentioned field, and wants to further strengthen it by appointing an Adjunct Professor (Professor II). The position is open to both experimentalists and theorists, but the appointed person should strengthen the ongoing experimental activity within the field of complex and soft matter within the department.

The experimental activity within the department related to the field is mainly focused on materials physics/characterization, soft and complex systems, and surface physics/characterization. The most important experimental techniques used within the department are electron microscopy, electron spectroscopy, light scattering, rheology, x-ray scattering and scanning probe techniques. There are altogether 9 permanent faculty members and 2 Adjunct Professors associated with this activity.

The successful candidate will provide plans for a strong and vigorous research program in collaboration with already existing activity within the department, as well as plans for teaching within the field. To this end, applicants are encouraged to contact members of the department to obtain information on ongoing research activity and existing infrastructure. The adjunct professor should possess a research record at high international level in the physics of complex and soft matter.

At present the Department of Physics has 26 professors, 12 associate professors, 5 adjunct professors, approximately 25 post docs and about 75 PhD research fellows.
