ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN

The Institute's field of study is the architectural design of all types of buildings and built environments, and associated theory and knowledge. This includes all aspects of architectural design, from the idea phase to the finished structure.
The Department is responsible for the teaching and development of relevant theories and methods related to the design process. There is an emphasis on sensitivity, theoretical understanding and analysis related to the design process, and as the basis for an architectural design solution. Good architecture results when functionality, technology and aesthetics together form a strong architectural whole of high quality.
The Institute's goal is to offer innovative and experimental teaching, research and development work.
The Department also has the chief responsibility for instruction about construction management and the management and leadership of projects.
This also includes the period after the building is completed, consisting of management, operations and maintenance, and development and architectural transformation of existing structures.

The Department's main focus areas
1. Construction using Complex and Simple Programs
2. Housing and Settlements – National and International
3. Project and Real Estate Development
4. Environmental Aesthetics – understanding landscape and city spaces.

The Department is also responsible for a new Master's degree in Real Estate Development and Management.

Disputas ved Institutt for byggekunst, prosjektering og forvaltning - Anita Moum

Siv.ark. Anita Moum, har til forsvar for graden Philosophiae Doctor ved Norges teknisk-naturvitenskapelige universitet innlevert avhandling med tittelen:

"Exploring Relations between the Architectural Design Process and ICT – Learning from Practitioners’ Stories".

Til å bedømme avhandlingen er oppnevnt:

  • Prof. W Mike Martin, Berkeley, University of California
  • Prof. Örjan Wikforss, Kungliga Tekniska högskolan, Sverige
  • Seniorforsker Kirsten Arge, SINTEF Byggforsk

med Førsteamanuensis Geir Hansen, Institutt for byggekunst, prosjektering og forvaltning, NTNU, som administrator.

Hovedveileder har vært professor Tore Haugen og biveiledere har vært professor Thomas Bock, førsteamanuensis Bjørn Otto Braaten og førsteamanuensis Birgit Sudbø.

Prøveforelesningen vil bli holdt i Rådsalen, Hovedbygningen , Gløshaugen

"Building Information Modeling (BIM) – a discussion of the usability and usefulness in the architectural design practice".

Disputasen finner sted i Rådsalen, Hovedbygningen, Gløshaugen

TEKTONISK BYGNINGSKULTUR I TEGL

Vi inviterer til spennende workshop og ekskursjon i Nederland fra 17. – 27. august.
Årets tema er tegl og dette materialet vil bli utforsket på alle mulige måter.

SE ERASMUS08_PROGRAM

Workshopen har deltagere fra 7 universiteter og inneholder både befaring av teglarkitektur og ulike 1:1 arbeider med tegl som materiale.
Alt oppsummeres i et felles byggverk som utføres på stedet.
Reise og overnatting er GRATIS og dekkes av fakultetet.
Vi har plass til max. 4 deltagere!
