Stine Helena Bang Svendsen

Stine H. Bang Svendsen is currently working on a PhD project about affect and multiculturalism. The aim of this work is to explore concepts of difference in Norwegian notions of nation and integration. In this work she draws on writing on affect and political emotion, as well as anti oppressive education. With Prof. Åse Røthing, she has written the book Seksualitet i skolen. Perspektiver på undervisning (Cappelen 2009) about sex education. Currently, she also writes about sexuality in Norwegian immigration policy, and the role of LGBT issues in new northern European racist discourses. Bang Svendsen's educational background is in American Studies (MA) and Gender Studies (BA), both from the University of Oslo.
