Om
My research is focused on Multiple Myeloma, a hematologic cancer of terminally differentiated plasma cells in the bone marrow. Myeloma is an heterogenous and incurable disease, and the ultimate aim is, through translational research, identify new treatment targets and develop efficient individualized therapy strategies for patients. In my current main research project I study the role of the cytokine IL-32, a biomarker for poor prognosis-patients. In addition, a side project has focused on the role of miRNA as predictors of prognosis in myeloma.
Previously, I studied Biotechnology at Department of Biotechnology and Food Science, NTNU, for three years before I completed my MSc in Molecular Medicine at Department of Clinical and Molecular Medicine, NTNU. I finished my PhD in 2020 at Therese Standal´s group (https://www.ntnu.edu/employees/therese.standal) and have continued at a Cancer Society funded post doc on the same group, where I follow up the research findings from my PhD.
