Short biography
Date and place of birth: 28.04.1970, Schäßburg. Studied Religionswissenschaft (Study of religions), Indology, and German literature at the University of Tübingen; Magister Artium, 1997; Dr. phil., 2000, University of Tübingen; from 2001 assistant professor at the Department for the Study of Religions, Freie Universität Berlin; Habilitation (professorial dissertation) and conferral of the venia legendi in the Study or religions (Religionswissenschaft), FU Berlin, 2007; Humboldt research fellowship in 2008 and 2009; from September 2009 professor in the Study of religions at the Department of Archaeology and Religious Studies, NTNU, Trondheim.
