Gearoid Patrick Lydon

Gearóid Lydon is a civil engineer with research interests in building simulation, thermal energy systems and multifunctional design approaches. He has trained in civil and computational engineering at the Queen’s University Belfast in Northern Ireland and at ETH Zurich in Switzerland.
From 2014 to 2022, he worked at the Chair of Architecture and Building Systems and the NCCR Digital Fabrication at ETH Zurich. He was responsible for the thermal energy systems research of the NEST HiLo project, which is a full-scale demonstrator of the impact of digital fabrication on the construction industry. He is experienced in industry collaboration and product development.
In 2022, he joined the Department of Architecture and Technology at NTNU as an Associate Professor. His research and teaching work is related to numerical and experimental methods for the integration of energy systems in the built environment.
