Building markets, shaping policy? The role of economics in energy policy and energy use

My PhD-project is part of the research project "Building markets, shaping policy? The role of economics in energy policy and energy use" at the Centre for Energy and Society. Here I work with Knut H. Sørensen, Henrik Karlstrøm, Margrethe Aune and Marianne Ryghaug. In this project, we study empirically to what extent economists have been able to influence policy-making in the energy area and the outcome of their advice. The point of the project is not to evaluate or criticize economic models as such, but to do an empirical investigation into the processes through which such models are transformed into policy as well as behaviour.
